Silver Cinema Review

Write for us

We welcome pitches that help a general reader notice something new about cinema without requiring a specialist background. Send proposals through the Contact page, with Write for Us selected as the reason for writing.

Ideas that fit

We consider clear, original work on film history, genres, screen language, adaptation and thoughtful viewing. A strong pitch has one central question, a defined reader benefit and a subject distinct from the broad idea of simply reviewing or ranking films. Evergreen comparisons, explanations and essays about how a film choice works are especially suitable.

What to include

Briefly describe the proposed piece, its main point, the examples you would use and why the subject matters to a curious viewer. Mention any sources needed for historical or factual claims, and flag uncertainty or limits in the material. Please send a proposal rather than a complete article unless a full draft has been requested.

Care and clarity

We look for writing that is accurate, specific and easy to follow, with a voice that leaves space for readers to think. Pitches should avoid unsupported claims, copied material and promotional framing. We cannot promise acceptance or a response time, and a proposal should be your own work.

Our way of looking

A film rewards the time we give it

We look at cinema with curiosity rather than a checklist, making room for context, craft and the details a second viewing can bring forward.
